For runners

Should you run today?

Wyndo checks heat, air quality, wind, rain, and UV for the run you are planning. Get a direct go now, leave at a better time, wait until conditions improve, or avoid for now answer, with the weather behind it.

Planning a long run?

Choose how long you want to run and when you are free: today, tomorrow, this weekend, or the next 7 days. The best-time-to-run planner checks starts on a 5–15 minute grid and shows the strongest window it found. If nothing qualifies, it may show a least-bad option or explain what blocked the range.

Racing in the heat? Adjust your goal pace

Heat slows every runner — the question is how much. Our heat-adjusted pace calculator turns your goal and the conditions into a range based on published research, shows the citations, and can pull the live forecast for your race morning.

What Wyndo considers for a run

  • Heat and humidity

The same air temperature can feel very different on a humid day. Wyndo checks heat index so muggy conditions do not look easier than they are.

  • Air quality while running

Running means breathing more air than walking. Wyndo is more cautious about poor air quality for a run than for a walk.

  • Wind, sustained and gust

25 km/h sustained wind affects pace; a 50 km/h gust on an exposed trail affects footing. Wyndo flags both, with thresholds tuned for runners specifically.

  • Rain across the run

A dry start can still turn into a wet finish. Wyndo checks rain across the run window, not only at the first minute.

  • Sun and UV exposure

A long run in strong midday sun is different from a short evening run. Wyndo checks UV alongside heat and duration.

  • Practical hours

Wyndo keeps recommendations to practical running hours, then compares the weather within that range. You still choose the route and lighting that work for you.

Real running decisions

Noon run on a heat-advisory day

Wyndo checks heat, humidity, air quality, sun, and rain. If now is a bad fit, it points to a better later window when one is available.

Long run window planning

Choose a 60-minute run and a time range. Wyndo checks starts on a 5–15 minute grid, then shows the strongest window it found and the weather behind it.

A dry start, rain later

The first few minutes can look fine even when showers move in later. Wyndo checks rain across the run window, not only at the start.

Before-work or evening timing

Ask for a window around the rest of your day. Wyndo compares the weather within practical running hours and shows the strongest fit it found.
