How the paw check works
Pavement heat, estimated conservatively
Asphalt can run 10–15°C hotter than the air in full sun. Wyndo estimates surface temperature from air temperature and measured sunlight, with a cautious margin. A warm, sunny afternoon gets flagged before paws get hurt.
Whole-dog heat
